On the evening of Tuesday 28 November, Minister Denis Naughten launched Irish Archives 2017, celebrating 90 Years of ESB in the beautiful surroundings of the Irish Architectural Archive in Merrion Square.
Oldtown switches on again
Oldtown in North Co Dublin was the first rural area connected as part of the Rural Electric Scheme in Jan 1947. Charlie Rooney was there in 1947 and switched on the electricity in this reenactment in Jan 2017.
