24 Hours, 1992

Award winning film depicting a typical working day for ESB staff and features footage from across the company.

Includes shots of pylons and transmission lines; staff in customer service call centre; ESB network vans on the road; power stations; National Control Centre; ESB personnel working on faults; school tour of power station; Ken O’Hara, Chief Executive, speaking to staff in Board room, Head Office and various rural and city scenes.

The film won a gold medal at the 35th New York Annual Festival. The US International Film and Video Festival was one of the longest established and most prestigious world events, honouring excellence in industrial and educational audio visual communication.

24 Hours was a profile of ESB’s commitment to customer service and was the second time a Diverse Image production won a gold award. The film includes narrated footage describing ESB’s roles in supplying power to run the nation, bringing light, heat and power to 1 million Irish homes as well as commercial and public premises and concludes with the message,  ‘ESB serving you better 24 hours a day.’
