Construction work at Rhode station began in 1958. The following photographs were taken of the construction crew, who were hard at work building the station’s massive cooling towers – obviously in the days before hard hats and site safety!

My Dad was 19 years old working there…..He was going out with my mum at the time and wrote her name on the very top of the 2nd tower…we were there watching the Day they came down …a very Emotional Day for Him…
